Yeah, it’s hot and muggy and wet feeling here in NYC, with temps today and tomorrow well into the 80s…I am done with summer heat but not the long days….

A lousy week. I am feeling increasingly worried, scared by the prospect of the Dems losing in November. I cannot bear to even talk about it, even with fellow Dems, much less the Republicans on the desk…..

Then we had a firing this week of someone who did not deserve it, the whole floor was upset, a great guy with 3 young kids, left Friday…..won’t even mention a friend who did something pretty foolish and is in hot water…….and then there’s Equus, which was a terrible play when it first opened and has not aged well, went Friday to see Harry Potter, who was perfectly fine, but the rest of the cast was dreadful, esp. Richard Griffiths, normally a fine actor, who walked thru the pivotal role with the same sound of exasperation in his voice as his portrayal of Harry Potter’s Uncle.

And to end the week, LXIV are going with friends to see “Xanadu” today. I hate Sunday matinees, at least the theatre kind, it guts the whole day, BUT in a moment of weakness I agreed (LXIV takes no responsibility for this, rightly so) and so will end the week with Kubla Khan………JUST SHOOT ME, PLEASE………………but enough whinging…….

Nothing to do with your lovely photo, but I’ve also smelled the wet scent of fear about the elections, and the bearing seems impossible. I’m hoping that fear gets Democrats in pink and yellow states out in droves to vote. As for the mugginess, it’s produced a Sunday slugginess that makes me yearn for fall. But not the short days.

Uh, did someone else just say all this?
