The Webmaster for the Blague and I attended a Yankees game this week; it may be the last time this occurs as he managed to go out three times for refreshments for our group and each time the opposing team scored three runs. On home runs. An ugly night for the Yankees, and there are only 22
more regularly scheduled home games left at the shrine.

    To quote him : 6 hot dogs, 1 beer, 1 cokes, 1 water, 1 pretzel – $55.

Missing the Angels hit three 3-run homers – priceless.

Or his name now ” Scapegoat Steve”

On a different note, I am off to London Friday for 8 days and will have a couple of fairly unplanned days : I know there’s a Cezanne exhibit at the Courtauld : any other suggestions?

Word has it the Dutch Seascape exhibit at the Maritime Museum is quite good.

To Fossil Darling: Are you a tennis fan? I remember that Scapegoat Steve once posted about sports being too moronic for words–he put it a bit differently–and at the time I wondered if he doesn’t have a friend who could drag him to a big professional tennis match on a beautiful day.

The US Open is coming up in a few weeks…perhaps you and R J could go and he could eat hot dogs and bust someone’s mojo in the Men’s Singles? (Don’t know how far Manhattanites have to travel to get to Flushing Meadows.)

I’ve often thought it would be thrilling to watch an elite match in person. Haven’t been paying as much attention to tennis in recent years, though…I rather lost interest when the beauteous Aussie Patrick Rafter retired.

Looking at the Angelika marquis, I am reminded how it used to be my “To Do” list for movies one really ought — and will enjoy — to see. As opposed to the theater outside your apartment on 86th Street: “What to Avoid, and if you don’t, bring ear plugs.”

Yes, Yvonne, I am a tennis fan and have been going to the US Open for, gulp, 45 years. I have been to the French (25 yrs ago, before the new stadium) and to Wimbledon but haven’t figured a way to get to Australia that does not include flying……I will be taking time off to go this year, as I normally try to do, but do not count on RJ to join us……….
