Today at the DBR: After taking Will to the park in the morning, and having a dandy lunch at Veselka, I came home and read a bit of The Towers of Trebizond while my insides, still settling after the previous day’s nightmare, decided what to do next. If The Vow weren’t set in Chicago — setting a romantic comedy in a city other than Manhattan is always a lame move that inevitably backfires — I might have indulged my passion for Rachel McAdams, especially as the movie is showing only a block a way. But instead I roused myself for a subway ride to Bloomingdale’s, where I saw W./E. Well, not in Bloomingdale’s. Madonna’s movie is boffo. Let’s do the Twist!
