Our friend Lady Diana (ours, not theirs!) despaired when she heard, early on in our wonderful friendship, that I did not ‘get’ Mozart. My Mother also despaired. So does LXIV.
We’ve known each other so long that she could say, “Michael, you’ll just leave it to your old age.”
Well, I am here, unrepentant, and still can only say, to paraphrase the Emperor, “Herr Mozart, too many notes!”
But, Happy Birthday, WAM!!!
I have to admit, yesterday I was thinking more of Prof. Dodgson’s birthday. I suppose I should be ashamed of myself, since as you know I am a fan of WAM, but I guess yesterday was a rather “down the rabbit hole” experience, so I hope to be forgiven.
