Weekend Open Thread:
Hot Dog!

last Week at Portico: The subjects of this week’s four pages are: Accent on Youth, an MTC revival starring the inimitable David Hyde Pierce; “Idols,” Tim Gautreaux’s story in the current issue of The New Yorker; Tony Scott’s updating of The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3; and, of course, the Book Review.

  1. Fossil Darling says:

When I am Lord of all Things, these blights will be removed. It just ruins the steps and the whole front of the Museum. And next on the list is pedi-cabs.

  2. George says:

Or, how many on the Museum’s Board of Directors will be soon or ought to be soon running a hot dog stand?

What did the Dalai Lama say to the hot dog vendor? Make me one with everything.

Fossil Darling will not do well with the coming leveling of society attendant to globalization and increased population. The streets of greater Manila, Bangkok or Singapore surely distress him as well. Personally, I like pedi-cabs and hot dogs. Perhaps in the near future I will support my interest in things NYC by becoming the oldest working pedi-cab driver and subsisting on the hot dogs from the vendors in front of the Museum. Surely, that must be better than the current mechanized mahoot situation.

My, my, how modern and flashy the left side bar has become since my last visit. Perhaps flashy is not the correct characterization but modern certainly is. The left side bar is attractive and eye catching, exceptionally so, but flashy doesn’t quite catch my impression and words that do don’t seem to come easily to my fatigued mind this morning. “Widget” it seems this tool is named. Very nice. Widget bears investigation along with the vagaries of &lt a href=”http://www.dailyblague.com/blog/?p=2491#comments” &gt, it’s the “?p=” part that I really don’t get.

Well, all that after a larger dose here of DB and some good strong coffee.
